Customer Reviews

Gets the job done for narrow shoes
Very efficient shoe storage, but really for narrower women's shoes. Men's shoes don't fit on it very well (the rings for hanging the shoes are too close together, and men's shoes - especially sneakers - are too wide).
Falls apart - save your money
Easily assembles & easily falls apart. Does not last. Rack attaching to door hooks always falls off.
Making entire rack fall down. This and shoes falling down = danger for little ones. Do not buy!!!
PaPa's Hats
The hats are easy too hang and stay in place I am ordering another now that I have seen and used this one
Great for kids' shoes!
Totally what I wanted in a shoe rack. I have 3 kids and lots of shoes to deal with... Perfect for my kids! Easy on/easy off. Hangs from door nicely -- door even shuts! Bought another one for all the summer shoes...
Good value for the price
For the price, it is fairly sturdily made and a good value for the price.

Didn't matter to us what it looked like because it hung on the inside back of a closet door. So no one ever sees it. But the chrome finish still looks good and appears that it will stay that way for a while.

Functionally, my wife, whose shoes occupy 90+% of it, says she is happy. We live in FL, so most of her light, <4-inch healed shoes easily fit. I could see where larger, more high-healed shoes might not fit as well.

My wife, assembled and installed the rack by herself. She said it was very easy.

Overall, we'd recommend this shoe rack.

Customer Reviews

Perfect for College
This is much needed for college students who need save more space in their small dorms. Got this with a shoe rack for about $25. Great deal for an organized room.
Fantastic Coat Rack
Great Item!

1) The wooden accents put a great touch to the rack.
2) The knobs are solid and it does not look nor feel cheap.
3) It can hold a lot of items and spaces them apart well

I was so pleased I bought another one.
Good grip, does not move
It is compact, positions itself well and does not slide along the door. The wooden knobs help keep the clothes from slipping. Overall it added a lot of value at my house. Now my husband and I dont have to pile our clothes together on the bathroom door.
Just bought my second!
I purchased this for my new bathroom which had only one towel rod. I love it! I was really surprised at how sturdy it was and how much it holds...which by the way I only have bath sheets, not towels. It fits my door nicely and doesn't bang around when you open or shut the door.
Now I have company coming to stay and felt I needed one for their room too. Seldom do I buy things twice. With free 2 day shipping, you can't beat it!
Great Item
Just got the rack and I love it. Fits the door perfectly and holds lots of stuff. Thanks

Building Doors & Drawers: A Complete Guide to Design and Construction

Taunton Press

List Price: $24.95
Price: $16.47
You Save: $8.48 (34%)

Product Description

The aspect of any cabinet, whether in a kitchen, bath, built-in or stick up for-alone furniture is the doors and drawers. They, along with moldings or span, define the style of a cabinet. Beyond the wide range of stylistic differences, there are dozens of ways to develop drawers or doors. And different methods have determined applications, depending on the use of the cabinet. While it's easy to learn how to raise a basic cabinet box, making durable, well-befitting, and attractive doors and drawers is more challenging. This lyrics covers all styles and methods of building drawers and doors, as well as installing arms and design. This is the only book on the market that also covers full measure doors, an especially useful feature since habit doors are extremely expensive. Because of the wide diligence of cabinetmaking, this book will appeal equally to carpenters and woodworkers

Customer Reviews

I don't think it's worth the money.
Yes, it describes the various ways to build drawers - but it needs to go a little further with examples for sizing of the drawers and doors.
An excellent book!!
Very well written. The illustrations are very clear and concise.
Simply put, an excellent reference book if you are into or want to learn how to build drawers and doors. Buy it!!
Not A Complete Guide

This is not a good book for beginners because it doesn't tell them the distance they need to be from the bottom of the drawer. It also doesn't tell them how deep you can make the grooves without weakening the drawer too much.

It is not a good book for advanced woodworkers because of the lack of a discussion of NK type drawers and slips.

So who is it's target audience?

I was tempted to give it an even lower rating but there are some good points in the book. I would not buy it again.
Gorgeous photos. Great advice.
This is a really great book. For beginners, it provides a lot of practical intro advice on the topic. For those with more experience, there are many more subtle lessons to be learned fromt he text and beautiful photos.

Bruins go far outside comfort zone with opening loss

Disillusioned by the Trojans, befuddled by the Lakers, and having it up to here with the McCourts, I plopped down on the chaise longue Monday tenebrosity for some comfort TV.

It was UCLA basketball, condition opener against Cal Stately Fullerton, the first installment in a sports acting as regal as Wooden's court and stable as Howland's watch.

I plopped down with child the basketball model of "Law & Order."

In place of, I saw the beginning of what appeared to be a bad actuality show.

"So You Think You Can Throw?"

For more than two hours while shouting, "Detroit Consideration me!" I watched the worst UCLA dispatch that I've seen in my 13 years penmanship columns about the collaborate.

I've seen Princeton disclose the back door, and this was more unsettling. I've been there when Cal Majestic Northridge danced through the front door, and this was more fanciful.

Fullerton played flinty and deserved the 68-65, insincere-overtime success, but a day later, the into question remains.

Who verbatim did they beat?

Was this uncommonly UCLA? Because this certainly didn't look like any UCLA pair I have ever seen, not in Jim Harrick's worst moments or Steve Lavin's weirdest moments or even Ben Howland's most harried moments.

Howland predicted it would be a rebuilding year, and warned of the effects of losing four starters, and reminded everyone of his together's youth and uncertainty. The Pacific 10 Colloquy writers picked the Bruins to administer third, and the

repair a wooden door with holes in it?

I locked myself out of my house & had to kick the front door in. Is there a way to repair the hole in the door? It's a hollow wooden door.
Thanks!

You might see if you can get a sheet of Formica laminate in a wood grain finish and contact cement it into place. Take off the doorknob and after you cement the laminate down, drill a hole for the doorknob and reattach that.

Alternatively if it is a standard size door that goes into a standard size frame you might buy a pre-hung one and put just the door part onto the existing hinges.

It would have been cheaper and easier to break a window so all your would need to replace was a piece of glass. Giving a neighbor a key or keeping a spare in your wallet might be a good thought for next time.

Because it's hollow I think you'll have to buy a new door, I would anyway, it'll probably look like crap if you try to repair it.

Home Depot sells with is called thin material that you can rubber cement on and trim to fit that will repair the door. Now will it fit in the old opening thats another story w/o havening to do some hinge moving.

In the long run doors can cost as little as 30.00 buck, so suck it up and but a new one,

It sounds like you need to find another house to live in, one where the doors don't lock up so easily. Usually you would buy a whole new door with the jam and all in one piece and replace the whole thing, it is much easier and you look like the good guy.

If you have a regular 3-0 door, just take the door f the hinges and replace with a new one. Home Depot/Lowes sells the standard hollow door in a variety of sizes called slabs or door slabs. All you have to do is cut out for the hinges and knob and dead bolts, then reinstall.

It's not worth trying to repair it. You can pick up a new hollow core door for less than $100. Any patch job would be noticible.

A more important question is....why is your entrance door hollow? It sounds as though you have an interior door serving as you exterior door. I would suggest replacing it with something a little more secure and weather proof.

It would be best to replace the door with a solid core door. The time and money spent on repairing a hollow core door is a waste. You will want to invest in a deadbolt lock as well as a spare key, to place in a very secret spot. Check with your homeowners insurance, maybe you could get them to pay for replacement, get some estimates and then collect the money and do the replacement yourself.

Why would you want to repair a hollow door, they are maybe 30 to 50 buck a slab, you can even get it with the bore for your lock. Replace it, you will save time and money. Good Luck

I have a sliding wooden door that keeps getting jammed every time I close it. How do I fix it?

I have a sliding wooden door that connects from my rec room to my laundry room and it jams every time I close it and its a nightmare to open again. What can I do to get it to open and close properly.

check the runner wheels oil or repalce them
oil the metel runners
soap on the wooden parts where it jams against wood

Why does wood grains keep falling off from the bottom of my wooden door? What's going on?

i've been ignoring the wood grain fallings ( looks like brown sand) from my wooden door by simply wiping it off. till recently, i discovered that one portion of my door is hollow. Could I be because of termite attack or the wood is aging? i have got to put a stop to it. Can anyone explain to me what's going on?

most interior doors ARE hollow. must be rubbing against something to wear it out.

How do I replace a glass pane in an old wooden door?

I have an old wooden door with a broken glass pane in it. I've removed the pain, but can't find any answers on how to put in a new one. The other panes on this door are not held in with putty, they are actually pressed between the wood of the door.

I appreciate any help you can offer.

in old wood doors your glass is held in by either trim or glazing. you will need to check very thoroughly to see what applies to your situation. If its wooden trim you will need to use a razor knife to cut the paint between the door and the trim carefully remove the trim measure glass opening get replacement piece and install back in door using some silicone caulk to help hold in place and seal and replace the trim.if you discover when trying to remove the wood that its glazing instead . remove glazing clean opening for new piece of glass use glazing in a caulk gun and smooth with a damp putty knife

How to open a jammed heavy wooden door?

Recently I slammed a heavy wooden door that leads to the garage, I slammed so hard that now i can't open it!
it has a regular door knob that you use a key to open
and a heavier lock up top.. i notice doorknob looks weird now fromm this side... my parents gonna be home in a hour!
PLEASE HELP

Please don't take the advice to remove the pins. You said yourself it's a heavy door. You need help or you could be injured. If the door knob is in the wrong position, the latch probably broke. Things break, don't sweat it. Let your parents handle this.
