Tempermental in recognizing code
This item eventually works but it some times has a mind of its own. On occasions I've had to enter the code 5x before it was recognized, other times it worked on the first try. Frustrating, but not the end of the world for me.

Genie Keypad
This wireless keypad is great and just what I needed. It was easy to install and directions worked great as well. You will not go wrong with the price and the shipping was fast too. I purchased (3) pair of these handles. Pair indicates (2) so I expected to receive (6) handles total. I was only shipped (3) handles and charged the pair price X 3. Amazon.com did allow return without return shipping charges.

FYI: I tried to reorder directly from Sanford and Son and the exact scenario repeated itself except Sanford and Son would not cover return shipping charges.

I was happy with the product, but unfortunately the manufacturer/distributor have issues.

How to reprogram Overhead Door Model 455 or its remote control?

I have bought a CLICKER model KLIK1U that is a universal remote control. It is suppose to work for Overhead Door models. I opened it up and it has a DIP switch with 12 on/off slots. My original remote control has DIP with 9 slots that are 0- I don't know exactly how to set my new remote nor do I know if I can reprogram the main unit with its f f- and SC buttons. I do not have the original instructions to the door opener and the new CLICKER model KLIK1U instructions did not provide helpful instructions for my situation.

Any ideas on how to get the CLICKER model KLIK1U to work with the older Overhead Door Model 455 garage door opener?

What is the procedure for applying wood cladding to an overhead garage door.?

we have a 7 x14 overhead garage door and want to apply cedar cladding to it. We have a good idea of how to go about it but would prefer some experienced advice.

Not sure if by cladding you mean cedar boards, if this is the case then what you do is.......
Buy your boards in 7' lengths.
Most garage doors consist of 3 panels start by making line on one end of door(the end your want to start with) to line up first board with.Cut board into 3 appropriate pieces to fit height of panel(use 1 board for all 3 pieces it will look better when door is closed)Boards may be butted or mitered where they touch each other.

Is an Overhead garage door and a Genie garage door made by the same company?

I am wanting to purchase a remote and keypad for an Overhead Garage door and looking on Ebay people are selling the same on for Overhead and Genie. Just wanting to see if they are compatiable.

Genie is a specific brand name. I have never heard the Overhead brand. Newer garage door openers can be programmed to open different openers if the codes match up. Open the back of the remote and remove the cover to the power head on the opener. There will be nine switches that you can move up or down. Duplicate the settings on the power head and remote and your in business.
