GE Wireless Doorbell shortcoming
It is a nicely designed chime unit, quite loud enough, and appears to be well made.
The problem that I have is with the remote pushbuttons. They are not waterproof, and not water resistant. There is a caution in the enclosed packaging that warns one not to install the button where it might receive direct rainfall. Well, that's what the outdoors and where I want to install the button is all about.

Defective Design
As numerous other reviewers have reported, the buttons (both of mine) frequently stick, causing the chime to sound endlessly. Additionally, if they aren't pressed all the way in, they still click as though they were (leading the visitor to mistakenly believe that the chime has sounded). Yes, astonishingly, this product's defective design causes it to either be triggered too much or not triggered at all.
I experienced both problems this morning (an endless chime when the FedEx guy arrived and a missed appointment with a carpet salesman when the chime failed to sound), which is what reminded me to write this review. I'll be replacing this product as soon as possible.

Poor reviews for most low end wireless doorbells
Not just here on Amazon, but at Lowes & Home Depot too.
Apparently they tend to stop working out of the blue, give false rings or stick.
As a result, rather than spend $15-25, I opted for a $4.90 unit including shipping from Hong Kong on flea bay from a seller with 25,000 transactions and 99.4% positive feedback. And, I found a half dozen buyers of this unit that seemed happy with it initially anyway.
It hasnt gotten here yet. And it uses two AA batteries in the chime, which has 16 sounds. The 2 buttons use 12V 23A batterys which are included but the two AAs are not. (Good because I keep AAs around. Dont keep the 12 volts.
Its warranty is effectively worthless as its only 30 days and you have to return the item on your own dime. which would be probably $3. But, most units either work or are DOA anyway.
But, I figure for $4.90 each, I can go through several of them before spending what I would have for the GM or one of the models at Lowes or HD.
One downside about ordering from Hong Kong is shipping can take 8-25 days. And I have boguht batteries that have taken as little as 8 days and as long as 24.
But, Im a tightwad and I like squeezing a dollar.
My plan is to only use one button at a time which should give me 2 years of battery life for the 12v 23a's that are included.
And, if it quits, well, I havent had a working doorbell for 2 months now, I'll live. They also make them with 2 doorbells as opposed to 2 buttons but they are a few $ more.
"Wireless Remote Control Doorbell + 2 x Button #266" is what I bought a few days ago. Hopefully, it will be worth the $5 and 2 week wait.

Worthless!!!
Maybe it's just my dumb luck because some reviews are fine. I threw away my money. Like another review said, both buttons sticked in the on position from the time I purchased the door bell. I kept thinking they would "loosen" up and work correctly...never did.
Numerous times in the dead of a Michigan winter, I was on my porch with a visitor, trying to get the damn button un stuck. Other times Fed Ex or someone would ring the bell when I was gone so the thing kept ringing till the batteries died. First time I ever have done a review but this pushed me over the edge.

Do NOT BUY this GE/JASCO door bell!
We just passed the one year mark on this GE19209 Wireless Doorbell and all I can say is it is the most poorly designed unit I've ever seen... and G.E.'s sub (JASCO) refuses to admit they have a problem. My first unit ordered from Amazon was defective... and replaced at no charge (of course) Amazon was great - they even covered my return shipping. Then the cold weather hit and the push button started sticking. I contacted JASCO: "send it back, we will review and replace if deemed appropriate". So, without door bell for a few weeks. 2 new buttons arrive - JASCO claims nothing wring with the units I returned. A couple months later... same problem but now in the hot weather: button sticking again. Same drill (phone call to JASCO, letter, shipping, wait 3 weeks for replacement). Last month I returned two buttons and yesterday I received the replacement - this time they only shipped me one button! I'm done calling/writing/shipping defect product to them.
I've now been through this 4 TIMES and guess what - the unit is out of its 1 year warranty.
Sorry. No kind words to say other than this GE product is a P.of S.
