I have a purple leather La-Z-Boy and it leaves faint red stains on white clothes and khakis. Is there anything I can do to the couch to prevent this problem?

What color(s) match a deep purple/maroon couch?
I have a lovely deep purple (really a dark maroon) leather couch and I don't know what colors would go well with it. My blue recliner looks way mismatched, and I just can't figure out what colors to do the living room in to go around this couch. Reds are out, blues are out, greens are iffy, so what is left? Black? Any ideas?
Hmmm... Well you have ruled out a lot of the "trendy" colors to match with - which I agree with.
Purple can seem like a hard color to match with, but don't let that get you down. It can actually look good with many colors.

You could also go with dark brown and cream accents.... Or a lighter grey/sliver and cream accents. You could go with black but be careful of making the room look gloomy and dark.
One of my fav ways to match purples is using a lighter purple accent with either a sliver or cream accent... So you could have a light grey chair - that has lilac pillows and have sliver and lilac pillows on the couch. Then get an area rug that is a slightly darker grey that maybe has some lighter purple thred designs. (however, you said your couch has more of a maroon tint to it and depending on how "red-ish" it looks, lilac may not match well. But there are many colors of purple to match with, just take a picture of your couch with you to the store.)

What wall color goes well with a purple couch?
I have just recently moved into a small studio with a loft, and I am looking for a color that will work with my purple couch and gold pillows. The coouch is an old antique and it is beautiful... the color is dark purple with medium brown legs and molding? My living area is very small and I have an open kitchen.... I want a color that will be easy to work with yet, not too dark so it doesn't feel like it is making my place smaller. I know yellow looks good but is there any color I can use with purple and gold? My bathroom, which is also located downstairs, is a beach theme and I was going to go with a light silver/gray... THanks for your help!

There are many options, look at stores that you like, on the web, try Ikea, or eBay. You could even go to a thrift store. Don't set out looking for a purple couch... you will most likely strike out. You can always recover it or get a slip cover.
