How do you clean waterspots on microfiber couch?

I have a microfiber couch that is just over a year old that looks like crud because of marks that look like waterspots. I know its not water that caused the spots (more like milk, juice, etc), but I cannot get rid of them. I have tried dish detergent and water, the carpet dry cleaning stuff, and have had no success. The couch isn't scotchguarded (salesman said it didn't need it...HA!), but will be if I ever get these spots out. Any suggestions?

I used lq. laundry soap, and a very soft brush. Then was careful to use more water to rinse all the soap out. Then, after toweldrying all excess out, I blew the fabric dry with my hairdryer. Gently brush the nap around as you dry, and keep the dryer a little away from the fabric, not holding it still but moving it around. (To prevent funky water spot drying). Worked well 4 me, good luck to you!

I just bought a used Microfiber couch and some areas are pretty worn. In reading about this fabric some have recommended a toothbrush...does this help with worn areas? Are there any other suggestions?

I have a microfiber couch and I use a suede brush on it and it keeps it looking great, also I only clean it with a color safe cloth and warm water, never any solvents.

How to remove dog hair from a microfiber couch?

We don't allow our dogs on the couch, but inevitably hair gets on them anyways. I spend about 30 minutes twice a week using a lint roller to get dog hair off of our microfiber couches. The vacuum doesn't really work. The lint roller doesn't work that well either, it is just what I have. Are there any alternatives?

tape - get some decent packaging tape and put it sticky side out around your lint roller or around an empty paper towel roll- you may have to replace the tape a few times depending on the size of the couch and how much hair there is but roll the tape roll over the couch just as you would do with the lint roller and this will pick up the hair.
There are also lint combs out there- it is a little comb with shallow teeth very close together- I find that using these and working in short quick strokes is a lot more effective than a lint roller.

Some vacuum cleaners have an attachment - I think it is for draperies but it has little teeth or the brush attachment will work better than any other atachments - you have to use short strokes

How can I remove water spots from a microfiber couch?

I purchased a microfiber couch and loveseat a week ago. After removing a food stain with water, it left a very large water stain, which I can't remove. I had the furniture treated by Stainsafe, who told me that a blow dryer on low helps prevent this from happening. Too late for these water spots, though. I am so upset and don't know what to try now. Please advise; I had no idea that microfiber was like this.

I actually have owned 2 microfiber sofas for the past 2 years and don't have a problem with water spots. I have two young children and they eat in the living room (on the sofas). All I do is use a very lightly damp wash cloth and brush against the material. Something else you may want to try is a carpet cleaner (the machine, not a cleaning fluid). A third piece of advice is to use an extrememly small amount of dishwashing liquid on the spots. Works like a charm. Good Luck!!!

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to clean a light colored microfiber couch. I can't take it apart to put it in the washer.

Also, anyone know how to get fingernail polish and carmex lip balm off of it?

What ever you do, do not use fingernail polish remover! You can clean the spots with rubbing alcohol, ammonia or even Vodka. Just dab a small amount on a rag onto the spot. If you use soap and water, remember to keep the couch as dry as possible while cleaning or you can leave water mark stains. Microfiber absorbs oil based products, so you might have to treat the area where the lip balm is several times.
