Very good chair for the price
I just recently received this chair after a different brand hammock chair fell apart. I will say there is much less netting than the others I have seen/had, as you can't stretch your legs out in it- but this one is also much less expensive than the other ones! I am able to squeeze my legs in if I have them bent up,which is still pretty comfortable (for me). But if you are looking for more of a "hammock" experience, I would recommend paying more for another type of chair so you are not disappointed. I still give it 4 stars because it is still comfy and seems to be a good value overall. I have just received it, so I can't comment on longevity, but it seems to be decently constructed.

Another note: the tag that was attached to my chair said the max weight limit is 200 lbs.

Well worth the money
This may seem too inexpensive to believe but it is a fabulous chair. Ours has lasted for two years now and is going strong. It is REALLY COMFORTABLE and has quickly become everyone's favorite outdoor seat. It DOES stretch from sitting in it so you'll need to retie it occasionally (like once or twice a season, depending on amount of use) to keep people's rear ends from touching the ground! But it's really, really, really comfortable (and fun to swing in too). Personaly, I can't see how the more expensive varieties would be that much different to be worth so much more money.

Hammock chair
It arrived fast enough, but I should have sent the chair back. It's pretty cheaply made, the ends are taped with what looks like regular scotch tape. It's OK, but I'll keep my eyes open for a better one. And we won't swing on it. I don't think it would take it.

Okay for now
Order was shipped very quickly.I will keep Item. Advertised hanging hardware and swivel not included. Chair could easily fray, cotten ends are only taped, not knotted. No way chair could be converted to 7 foot hammock as advertised. I should have read advertisement closer. I could have gotten 100% cotten chair for less. This ad didn't state the material used.
I could buy from this company again I'll just pay closer attention.

Great customer service
Two days after buying this swing i found just the exact thing I was looking for and contacted Don, the seller, about a refund. Even though it was a Sunday, he got right back to me and said he'd make every effort to cancel the order, even though it ships direct from his supplier. He kept me informed every step of the way while he did what he could to cancel. By Tuesday, I got word that the order had been cancelled and that a full refund had been given. It was such a stress-free exchange. I would recommend this buyer for sure!

rope hammock
Not as versatile as the one we bought over 20 years ago at the San Antonio Folk Life Festival, but every bit as well made. The original was adjustable so you could stretch out better, but this one is equally comfortable. And this one actually has a better support bar.

My 21 yo loves this chair on our front porch
We bought this chair for our large southern front porch for our 21 yo daughter last Christmas. My husband and I "hog" the swing and she wanted a rope swing. This has been great! I did take it down this spring when the fields were being plowed to keep it from getting so dirty, but I've put it back now. I've washed it too, because it smelled musky. Came out fine. Strings a little tangled, but nothing I couldn't straighten out.
We have all enjoyed this lazy chair hammock rope swing so much.

Works just fine; good value
My 9 year old daughter wanted a hanging chair for her bedroom and this was a choice she could afford. I was a little concerned about the few negative reviews.
We've had it over a year now, used it ten plus hours per week and it's holding up fine. At this price I would have been happy with 6 months. My daughter loves it; for her it's a cross between a lounge and a swing. I'm 6'1" and I can sit comfortably in it, though it's true: an adult can't stretch out in it.
Just be sure to anchor it very securely.

Some not what they appear to be on line.
Outback Chair CCH-237 Charleston Rope Chair . I have reviewed the customer pictures and reviews. It is obvious that some people are not getting the Charleston Rope Chair. This happened to me after my daughter bought me the real one for Christmas...I went back to Amazon in Aug to order another and although the picture showed it to be the same from a contract vendor; when it arrived, it was an imitation Omni swing for the same price as the Charleston Chair 79.95. No wonder one of the customer reviews said that she could not stretch out in hers. I am 5'9" and have plenty of room.
I had also ordered from another contract vendor, what I knew to be the Omni swing for less than 30.00 and I knew it would not be up to the same standard. That was fine. They refunded me 10.00 for not having the hardware as listed on the order. No problem. After receiving both swings I had two of the same chairs, same boxes and product #s, one being 40.00+ more. I had a very long and heated debate online and off with the other vendor,(who by now had already changed the name of their company on line, don't know what they are calling themselves now) of the so called Charleston Chair and ended up spending 16.00+ nonrefundable postage, to send it back to get my purchase refund from Amazon and the contract vendor. All the vendor could do was complain about how much money they were losing by returning my money. (They even wanted me to spend the postage to send back their unsolicited catalog and coupon card for another order)I was willing to keep the chair at its real worth. Said they could not make a partial refund, knew that was not the case. I lost 16.00+ and had nothing to show for it but a bad experience. Now I am hesitant to order another, that I may be stuck with another return postage for the wrong swing. As noted on the pictures from customers..some got the imitation not the real one. If you don't have a real Charleston Chair you may not know the switch. The pole is carved on the real one and it should have a small cushion in it. BEWARE! I will have to be guaranteed to receive the right one with return postage paid to order anything again from Amazon.

Thinest Rope Ever!
Buyer beware! This is the cheapest rope I have EVER seen!! There are only a few strands twisted together - I only let the kids swing on it because it doesn't look like it is safe to hold over 70 pounds! This is doily material folks! Good thing I only paid $39.99 for it! I was very disappointed! I'm very familiar with textiles so when I say this is more like a bunch of cotton twine loosely twisted, I'm very acurately describing this chair.

Broke on second day
This chair is smaller than you would think. My 160 lb teenage son sat it in the second day it was up and the ropes broke. It wasn't just that the knots came undone, the ropes themselves actually snapped. It says it will hold up to 400 lbs. I wouldn't buy it.

Texsport handling of shipping a disappointment
I ordered this texsport daydreamer chair. When I received it there was no tape on bottom of box. The instructions for mounting and hardware were not in the box. All I have is the swing! The box didn't look like UPS had torn the box, it looked like there was never tape on there to begin with. Shipping it back would be about the same price as buying the hardware.

Beautiful Swing!
The swing is very beautiful! The seat is large and very comfortable (And I'm 5'9 260lbs) it does not come with any supports it's just the swing, just in case you needed to know so yes go buy the S rods and the chains to hold it. Very happy with the purchase!! now if I could just keep the mosquitos away!! LOL

Dont leave it outside !
This swing is nice, comfortable and even holds me at 220 lbs ! At a recent cookout, many guests sat in it.. BUT, although it has been kept dry from rain, it has gotten damp from mist carried by the wind.. Now, MOLD has started to grow on the fabric !!! Since they claim you can use it outside, one would expect the fabric would have some MOLD inhibitors used in manufacturing... For the money, it's NOT a bad deal... Male SURE you take it INSIDE during bad weather !! I will try a 50/50 light bleach and water spray to kill the mold.... Good Luck with yours !

Good quality, but...
I bought this swing chair for my son who scares of motion. Originally, I planed to hang this chair to our indoor doorway support bar. Unfortunately, the wooden bar of this chair is quite long, even longer than the doorway. So, we have to remove the chair from the wooden bar and hang the chair through some hooks to the support bar. Overall, good quality.

Hanging a hammock chair from a ceiling joist?

I have myself a sturdy hook, half an inch in diameter and an inch and a half of threading. I've found the joist in the ceiling.

Is one joist enough to support a chair and body weight? Or should I run a board along the ceiling and draw support from two joists? (Can't access from attic, so it would be screwing a board into both joists, then the chair hook into the board. I'd really rather not....but if I have to I will :)

The joist will be fine, its the screw eye that you have to be worried about but it sounds like you have a good one. just make sure you don't over or under drill the pilot. you dont want to split the joist. and as with all hanging furniture, don't get too wild on it.

Can a hammock swing chair be attached to a child's swing set?

My son loves to swing but he has a very dificult time using a regular swing due to some motor delays. He needs something to support his back and he is already too big for an infant swing. Once you decide where you want to hang the chair, locate the spot on the ceiling where you need the bolt to be secured. If it within a few inches of a ceiling joist (usually a 2 X 4 or 2 X 6 board that the ceiling is attached to), use a use a bolt with a hook or enclosed circle on the end and attach it to the ceiling joist. Either drill a hole through the entire joist and use a bolt with nut on the end, or use a bolt with a pointed screw end. If you're nowhere near a ceiling joist, you can span two joists, similar to how a light fixture is secured between two joists. You'll need a longer bolt to screw through the ceiling and the cross-board. Once secured (either method), hang the chair onto the bolt protruding from the ceiling.
