Makes my old chair comfy again!

Cushion OK
The cushion is thin, memory foam. It has the usual icky smell of memory foam. It would be nice if it was thicker so then it would give better comfort. Do not like the velvet feel of the cover.

Works well on my office chair

this is exactly what I wanted
I sit in an old wooden chair that I have for sentimental reasons. It is, however, wooden and I was going numb even sitting on top of a blanket after about 20 minutes. This cushion is PERFECT. It is rounded on one side and flat on the other, which is not totally clear in the photo which suggests it is more rectangular looking. I am 5'3" and found this cushion perfect, but be sure to check the dimensions if you think this will be an issue.

I recommend this cushion VERY HIGHLY. It is firm, as another reviewer pointed out, but I like this because if a chair is too soft I feel sort of unbalanced. It's not at all hard - just firm, like sitting on a very modern sofa. I really like it. I have not gone numb at all in the past few days. I don't know how I was sitting in that chair before.

The color of the cushion I received is more of a gray-blue, not a cobalt blue as in the photo.

Very firm cushion
This is a good quality cushion, but it may be too firm in my case. I have been using it with my wood kitchen chairs. The size of the cushion is fine, and it raises the height of the chair which is helpful. However, I find it only a bit more comfortable than the wood chair, and now I have to readjust it from slipping out of place. I have some vascular problems the back of my upper thigh that are very painful to sit on my wood chairs. I am still using it after several weeks. I think maybe an top layer of softer foam would better for me. It might be fine for others depending on your situation.

Outdoor furniture cushions
These cushions are awesome! My 83-year old mother is a smoker, and where she lives they must go outside and smoke. They have a covered patio with wrought iron furniture, which makes and extremely cold seat this time of year. Repairing fabric on chair cushions, how do you get staples out of wood?

I'm trying to get the old fabric off my chair cushions and there are hundreds of staples in the wood on the the bottom of the chair. How do you get the staples out of the wood? Some of the staples are flush tight and it's hard to pry anything under them. After much blood and many cuss words, I need some advice. Is there a tool for this?

You could try an awl which is just a sharp pointy tool with a handle on it. You may have to tap it lightly with a hammer to drive it under the staple and pry. If you don't have an awl, a good size nail might work. Try to drive it under the staple at an angle. I would suggest wearing some safety goggles as you may end up with staples flying in the air and wouldn't want to get one in your eye.

Any recommendations on patio chair cushions storage?

What can you recommend on patio chair cushions storage in the summer when not in use. There are lots of animals walking on backyard at night - raccoons, rabbits, chipmunks, opossums, etc. I start having goosebumps when I think any of them sitting on these cushions and me and my baby after them in the morning. I try to think of some storage for the cushions at home for the night. Any ideas?

I have the same problems with night critters.
I have bought a heavy duty plastic toy box that I keep under my deck. This box is tan and has a hinged lid that just flips up. It is weather proof and keeps out rain, dust and critters.
It is big enough to store cushions.
(there are boxes like these not specifically for toys that are great for outdoor storage.)

If you need to bring the cushions in the house at night,
you could slip them under a couch or bed. They are flat and should easily fit under either of these.

We're looking to have square chair cushions made to fit some old mid-century chair frames we picked up. The Cushions would be the same basic shape as these:

i have a lawn chair set, you know, glass table and 6 chairs for my deck, and i put the cushions in the playhouse over winter and now they have some green adn some dirt on them. when i hose them off, what should i scrub them with? laundry detergent?

I don't hose mine off because I don't want them to mildew inside. I use a cleaner and protector by DampRid which removes surface dirt and puts down a fabric protector that prevents staining and mildew. I found it at Lowes in the cleaning aisle and I swear by it. Even mustard didn't stain my cushions.

I have been searching the internet trying to find free patterns to make kitchen chair cushions. Not slipcovers but the actual cushion. I am fairly new to sewing so the easier the pattern the better! Thanks.

Trace your chair seat and add 5/8 in for the seam allowance. Cut two the same size for each chair. Sew 3 1/2 sides and then insert foam or polyester or cotton filling, Sew the rest of the 4th side on the machine or by hand. Cut ties about 2 in. wide and at least 1 ft in length . Cut two for each cushion. Turn in the edges to the center and then fold it over again. Sew it on the edge of the open side. and go in reverse and back to keep it from unstitching. I would tie a knot near each end. Stitch the center of the tie to the cushion back were it will match up with the chair back and then tie it on. OR buy cordinating small rope ties and skip the sewing together. If you have ofd cushions use them as a pattern or borrow a neighbors cushion for a pattern.Chair cushions are very easy because they are 2 flat pieces and it goes very quickly. I hope you make them like you like and that you enjoy sewing as much as I have the last 44 yrs. I was making my clothes at 9 and 10 and wore them to school in the 5th grade. I still enjoy it a lot!
