Perfect solution!!!
These shades, though made of paper, look nicer than one would ever expect when installed. Being able to custom fit them to the width of the window(s) is a plus, especially for a set of windows that vary somewhat in size. So far I have had no problems with mine staying up, and I would offer the following tip: prepare the surface where you will attach the adhesive strip first; clean the area with a paper towel saturated with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry thoroughly. This removes any dirt and especially oils that prevent the adhesive from working well. The shades filter light and provide privacy although they are not light-blocking. Also, please note that the 72" length on these is misleading; the shades are that long only if the accordion pleating is fully extended, which does not happen simply by hanging them. When installed and allowed to hang naturally, the shades cover a 60" vertical space (approximately). I found that it took a lot longer to trim the width of the shades than the stated time, but I was not using the sharpest of knives:( In general I highly recommend these shades for their appearance and value!
Not sticking that well
This batch of Redi Shades just isn't sticking the way the way its supposed to. The adhesive will hold for a day or two, then the shade will fall off and need to be rubbed back into place. The only solution was resorting to two-sided adhesive tape to keep them in place. This was a repeat purchase, I've had no problem with the brand until this. Don't know if they changed the type of adhesive used, but if so its definitely not an improvement. Since they are not really so cheap (Dollar Stores sell 'permanent' shades in the same price range) I thought this worth noting.
Redi Shades
I purchased a pack of six shades for six windows in my bedroom. After putting up the shades one evening, The first shade fell to the floor during the night. Thinking that maybe we hadn't installed properly, as we were trying to stick it back up again, a second shade fell as we looked on. To date, 3 out of 6 shades remain on the windows. I am not impressed with whatever is being used to make them stick.
keep on falling down
This would be a great idea if it wouls stay up. They don't stick well to wood mouldings.
window shades
I honestly can not believe how great these shades look, privacy is unbelievable and they are amazingly so inexpensive and easy to cut.
In no time I had these up and what a great fit..What I paid for six I couldn't purchase one from another company. Thank you amazon..

great seasonal solution
I purchased these Fabric shades while I tried to figure out what to do with a very hot, western exposure sliing door in my kitchen. The way the sun comes around between 3:00 and 7:00 is brutal and my whole kitchen and downstairs bakes. We have a retractable awning on our deck outside, but the sun's angle still defeats that. It is totally energy inefficient and very annoying. We cannot sit at our table for dinner which is right in front of the door. I purchased these shades as a temporary solution while I explored my options. My husband is very much against putting any holes in the wood trim on our slider which is required of any other shade application, but didn't have a problem with these. If it weren't for the tacky clips that come with the shade to secure it in the up position, I would just leave them up the rest of this season and re-install them next summer. If there were u-clips it would be much more attractive.....these are like huge clothes pins. I have not tested the adhesive as far as removing and reapplying, but I will worry about that next year or just purchase new ones, since you cannot beat the price!! Maybe I will just leave this problem for the next owner if we sell our house. The other slight negative is that the shades do not run down the entire length of the door when down, which may have been my issue in not ordering the correct size....I do not remember if they are offered in differnet lengths. If you pull on them carefully, they do stretch out to fit almost the whole way, but you have to do that each time.
A very good product overall and a great, affordable solution for a lot of people with light or privacy issues.
Disappointed
I was hesitate between this one and a $20 roman shade from Bed Bath & Beyond for a weird size 2'by4' window of downstairs bathroom. Decided to go with this one based on reviews and free Prime shipping. The product to me is really cheap looking. It looks like a VERY temporary shade for a week or two. I don't like it at all.
Great Shade for the price. Perfect.
I was looking for a cheap solution to window treatments. These shades were easy to put up and look great.
Great Blinds for Temporary Use! But be careful!
My husband and I just moved into a hew house and I ordered a set of six blinds in order to ensure our privacy.

The blinds are great! They are easy to use, fairly easy to cut (I actually used my bread knife to do it)and they fit very well in the windows. Everyone who has seen them has commented that they look just like regular blinds.

** The only care I would suggest is when peeling off the cover to the sticky part - make sure you do not also peel off the glue with the plastic. I did that one time and almost ripped the blind apart. You have to peel carefully to make sure none of the glue is attached. Once it's clear, then it's very easy. Otherwise you run the risk of tearing the blind and/or not being able to actually use it.

Perfect for Apartment
My boyfriend and I recently moved into an apartment with no blinds. He works nights, so he needs to sleep during the day. Even with the AC on the room wasn't cooling, so I saw these. They are perfect. I bought them for the bedroom first to check them out, despite the previous claim mine were shipped in a triangular box, the exact size of them (which i appreciated) They were easy to cut (marked with pencil, cut with utility knife i own) and we had them unpacked and hung in under 10 minutes. Light still gets in but it's cool and muted. They look fine (We actually got compliments from our family) The clips are fine for what they are,and we stretched them out to our 72" windows by clipping the end to the ledge on our window.

Overall great purchase, they were exactly what I expected. We are getting 3 more for the rest of the windows now!

Love to Shop
This is such a great price for this shade. It really darkens a room and it is so nice. I just love it. Looking at the other reviews, I see where some of the customers stated that this shade did not come in a box, I cannot believe that, but mine did. The shade was in plastic inside of a sturdy box. It was not damaged at all. I will order another one, but in a different size if they have it. You can't go wrong with this shade. GREAT bargain.
Way too expansive!
Shortly after I purchased some Redi Shade for my new home, I found out cheapest mini-blinds cost $10 at big box home improvement stores. 48-by-64 is about $15. I returned all unopened Redi Shade and bought some cheap mini-blinds instead. It takes 5 minutes to install mini-blinds vs. 1 minute for Redi Shade. For temporary window cover, cheap mini-blinds are much more cost effective than Redi Shade. Temporary window covers aren't as temporary as I hope. It was 9 month later before I replaced my "temporary" window covers. During the 9 months, the Redi Shade fell off multiple times and it is harder to operate compare to mini-blind. I ended up replacing my temporary Redi Shade with a temporary mini-blind. When installing the temporary mini-blinds, I use one screw per bracket and patching up the holes is easy. Even if I don't patch the holes, one little hole won't be noticeable if you aren't looking for it. I'm going to donate my temporary mini-blinds to Habitat for Humanity, so they will not be wasted.
Great Shade
This shade does what it says, it darkens your room! It conveniently pulls up and stays up. I would only recommend getting stronger double sided tape to hold it up on your wall.
So well made and wonderful for privacy
I am using these for window treatments in a new house I am remodeling. These are very well made and look great! As good as the mega buck pleated ones at Lowe's etc. For the money, awesome.
Good for a baby room
Works great - really darkens the room. Easy to trim/install. Looses 1 star as the peel-and-stick pads used to attach the shade to the top of the window came off after 1.5 months. They actually detached not from the window, but from the shade itself. I guess this is that "temporary" part of the product name :)

You get what you pay for.
This is what I get for thinking $15 will buy me shades for my windows. If you want something that won't fall down after a few days because the foam tape is crap quality, spend a little extra money and buy real shades.
Temporary and standard light
I prepped the surface with rubbing alcohol only to find them laying on the floor within the first five days of installation. The darkening effect is no better than the vertical blinds currently installed on the other windows.
I won't be purchasing these again.
Redi Shade does the trick
This shade met my expectations. Easy to install and use. Blocks the light. Great feature is the pull string. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good product and a great price.
Wrong Product Shipped
The item was NOT what it indicated-- it was simply paper rather than corded vinyl.
Easy and Functional
I bought these shades for my new home with 30+ windows and until I knew what to do with the window dressings, these work just fine. I like how easy they are to install and how good they look. They are a little tricky to cut with the tool they provide; you need to cut them to size with a hack sawish type tool...I used a like ginsu knife (one that cuts through anything) and it seemed to cut o.k. They have 2 draw strings in the middle to pull them up and let down, so to pull them up evenly on both sides, you have to grab the strings in the middle and levvel them. Inexpensive solution until you know what you want to do....

How do you get creases out of cloth cellular mini blinds?

Help... my son is going to be in trouble with his step-dad. We have those expensive, cloth, cellular mini blinds and there is a crease in it. He thinks my son leaned against it and it left a crease. He wants him to replace it but it was like $200 and I don't think it needs to be replaced. How would you get the crease or dent out of the blind? It is a pretty small crease only on one or two pleats and I don't want to cause any damage to the blind.

How do you clean cellular blinds?

They are about 7 years old and are really dingy - can I take them to a dry cleaners? Do carpet/upholstery cleaners clean blinds too?

Use the hand held fabric cleaner attatchment from a rug steamer you rent at the store. Works great!

How do I take levolor cellular blinds down from my window. They have been damaged need to send to co.?

The blinds are mounted inside the top of the window. I am having a hard time getting them down. Please help.

there is most likely a way to unsnap the blind itself from the mount structure ( that is screwed into your window frame) once you have removed the blind from this frame...chances are you will reveal the screws.

its almost an impossible question to answer without seeing the blind...but i am a decorative painter and have to remove blinds and window treatments daily.
i would recommend you get a step stool so you are high enough to really see what you are doing.

Cats and cellular blinds?

We are thinking about getting cellular blinds in our house. However, we have two cats and I am worried they may scratch them. So i am wondering if anyone knows from experience or whatever if cats are attracted to those types of blinds or if they will leave them alone? I definately don't want to pay a lot for custom blinds if the cats are just going to shred them.

Thanks in advance!

My mother has blinds through out the house and they feel like plastic but they are painted. I wonder if these would be good for your cats. My cat just leaves them alone. I have it part way so she can look out the window. I hope this helps.

What options do I have for window blinds other than mini blinds? I have just a half inch depth to install the ?

brackets. Would I be able to install wooden slatted blinds or cellular blinds if that is all the room I have?
I would prefer the mount to be an inside mount.

Cellular Shades - the Basics

The cellular tinge is a window shade made from material to look like a honey comb.
