Why are my tanning bed bulbs not coming on?
My tanning bed bulbs take a long time to come on. Some light right away and other take up to 5 mins.
The ones that are taking awhile probably need to be replaced. Or there is a shortage to those particular bulbs, in that case, it'd be pretty unsafe to lay in there. Try getting them replaced, and see if that does the trick :)

What is the difference in the brightness of tanning bed bulbs?
I recently used a bed with "new bulbs" at a reputable salon in which with the goggles on was not too bright on the eyes. I went yesterday to a newer salon just under a year old, and the lights were so bright my eyes were watering with the goggles on- The only difference is the second place had face tanner built in the bed- I asked the lady and she said its because they change their bulbs more frequently- The prob with that is that the previous place i had been going, had just changed their bulb not long b4- ???
Okay here it is . . New bulbs are much stronger as is the facial bulbs are brighter bulbs . .kinda like how we have 40 watts and 60 watts for our house. Now you also need to pay attention to the level bed you are going in. Normally they have 4 levels. Level one being a starter bed not too much UV rays but enough to get you started (i notice alot of burning if bulbs aren't changed) Level 2 beds are made with a little bit more UV rays and little bit brighter bulbs (generally for someone who just wants al ittle bit of color before atrip) Then there are levels 3 adn 4. 3 generally is the bed you would want to use all the time (with moderation) once you have your base tan and want to deepen it and keep it. Now level 4 beds generally use all facial tanners on the top part and have highest quality UV bulbs under you. these beds are if you need a tan as quick as possible 2 sessions gets you a base and you DON'T BURN in these beds because they also use bulbs called bronzing bulbs don't know too much about them but love them! I am a very tanned person and like to go at least 3 times a week to keep my golden color as i live in the north east and the winters are very cold so there isn't much sun for me and where i work 2 jobs i don't have the time to go on a vacation until summer and still go tanning at least 1 time a week in the summer. I use to own a bed in my own home so tanning is one thing that i know. You should also not keep your eye's open even with goggles on. the lights can still be damaging. also heres a little hint using brozers and tingles (switching off everyother) help make the best tan tingles will make yo ulook burnt for about 3 hours but it will go away and turn to a nice tan just don't use too much of a tingle as for a mild tingle. good luck and hope this works
Will tanning bed bulbs fit in a regular florescent bulb fixture?
If the bulb is the same length as the fixture, will it work?
Not typically. Tanning lamps are usually 1500ma VHO type lamps. Even if the length and sockets are the same, the common strip fluorescent fixtures would be 800ma HO type. The ballast would not be compatible. If you were to change the ballast to the correct type, it would work. If you plan to build your own tanning equipment, please incorporate a timer to prevent overexposure.

You probably don't want to get the cheapest bulbs possible because they may cause you or whoever is using the bed to burn more easily. Try tanlamps.com, outdoorgirl.com, mastertanning.com or tanningbeds4less.com.
how do you clean tanning bed bulbs, from stand up tanning bed?
