platform bed???
I love the look of a platform bed and i am considering purchasing one in the next few weeks. But I am worried that this bed will end up making me hate it.
My bed already is just a box spring and a mattress on the floor and to be honest I LOVE IT ( box spring broke about a year ago so I had to ditch the plain frame), but I am scared like the mattress will slide on the platform. I am a wild sleeper and I know you dont want to hear this but you know what else goes on in a bed...I do not want the mattress and us to end up on the floor.
So does anyone have any experience with one?
i have had a few different platform beds in my life and they all work just fine. they all have a frame around the bed that holds the mattress in place. it works for wild sleeping ;-}. I'm also a wild sleeper and i have never had a problem. good luck sweet dreams.
we put our bed on drawers that were for a waterbed and it doesn't move at all & my husband has restless leg syndrome.

I am looking for a king size platform bed -- the real kind of platform.
I type in platform beds in yahoo only to find beds with legs and slats! That is not a true platform bed.
I have an awesome (queen) size platform bed that looks like it's floating on air. It's got a solid wood under the mattress that connects to sides. Under that solid flat piece there is a smaller, square piece that raises it in the air a bit. It's sort of low, but not too low, and not too high. This is what I'm looking for, only in a king size. (I got this platform in the 80's.)
The platform is like a short box, that allows you to stick the mattress inside the platform (therefore it wouldn't shift). It comes up on the sides about 3-4".
I don't want to spend a lot of money on it, I'm looking for reasonably priced.

What type of bedding should I use with a platform bed?
I have just purchased platform beds for all the bedrooms in my home and I'm not sure what type of bedding to buy. I don't want the comforter, quilt, whatever to hang over the platform of the bed as the platform extends past the mattress and is really what I love most about the new beds.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Just tuck the spread under all the way around. To do that and have it look nice buy a thinner spread like a matelasse. A comforter or some quilts would be a little too bulky.
Can I use an ikea platform bed frame with my sleep number bed?

if the measurements add up then there is no reason why it wouldn't!!
get the measurements of your bed and the platform and see if they are the same or close enough!
