I just love loft beds--even this one
Well, the ladder is terrible--the small diameter of the rungs cut into one's feet. So I bought a little stepladder to use instead, wrapping a towel around the top rung. And it tends to sway when moving around--although it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. But the price was certainly right, and I'd certainly rather have it than none at all.

Not bad
I really like the space this created in my room, and now it looks pretty put together and cozy. :)

The only complaint is if your a tall guy, your feet may touch the end of the railing (I'm like 5'11 and 6). Granted, it's fine if you sleep on your side - or spread your legs apart. A sliding component would've been nice so it's easier to climb into and out of bed, but you get use to it.

I like it.

Very happy with this bed!
I bought this bed for my daughter who is a little over 6. She shares a room with her brother and the 2 twin beds made the already tiny room ridicules to navigate so being able to shove one bed under another seemed like the perfect solution. I wanted the loft bed so that when they no longer want to share a room(they are sharing because they want to) I can take out his bed and my daughter will have a place for a desk or whatever underneath.

The bed came in the manufacturers box. The box came a little damaged but all the contents were fine. Beware if you don't have help to carry the box... it was a very long box and weighed 84 lbs according to the shipping label. It took both my husband and I to maneuver it upstairs mainly because it was so long.

My daughter and I (30 year old woman) put the bed together by ourselves. It took an hour and a half or so. It was very easy and the directions made complete sense. I would recommend 2 people to put it together because of the really long pieces. My daughter was the pieces holder so I could screw things together. Most of it can be assembled flat on the floor. They provide 2 allen wrenches which are the only tools needed for assembly. The small parts were very well packaged and it came with enough pieces.

The bed itself is very sturdy. It does wiggle a bit but not too much. I'm sure the wiggle is mostly because the bed is on "stilts". It in no way seems dangerous. It did come with 2 parts that were not explained but they seem to be pieces to bolt the bed to the wall. If I thought that was necessary I would have called the company to ask about them but it does not. The finish is excellent. Not too easy to scratch but I did manage to do some surface scratches while putting it together. The bed comes with 22 tubular metal slats for the mattress to sit on, very sturdy! Pay attention to the mattress thickness limit (I think it is 9"). Our mattress is 10". The thicker the mattress, the shorter the guardrail that keeps your child from falling out! That said, there is still 5" of rail above her mattress I feel comfortable with that. From the floor to the bottom of the mattress platform is 55.5" so add on the thickness of your mattress and that is about how high off the floor your child will be. In my opinion, it is almost too high but I'm getting used to it.

The only bad thing I have to say about the bed is that the ladder is very tough on feet! The rungs are too narrow and they are round. In one of the reviews for the same bed with a different configuration someone suggested using water pipe insulation to pad the rung. They cut the insulation to fit and wrapped it with duct tape to hold it on. EXCELLENT idea. I put double stick tape on the rungs, covered the insulation with some hot pink pleather fabric (to make it cuter) then just slipped it over. Perfect.

Great price, great idea for a room make-over
My daughter has been wanting a loft bed since she visited her cousin in Arizona almost 2 years ago. We looked around for options available and this one is a great deal. Not only does she have ample work space under the bed but it's a full size bed so she's not ready to outgrow it in the next year or so. I like that she can no longer hide stuff under her bed as we would definitely see it.

Sturdy beds!
We own this set and I am so surprised to read the other review about this being a cheap flimsy set. The loft bed is so sturdy that my husband (who is Not so skinny anymore!) two children, and I can all get up on top and not worry in the least about it collapsing. The wood is very heavy and does not peel off! All I can figure is that my set was made a few years back and perhaps what is being offered now is of lesser quality.

I gave 4 stars and not 5 because the top bed is quite difficult to get the fitted sheet onto. If your child is a bit older and can do it himself it wouldn't be a problem, but I was sleeping a potty training 3 year old up there and it was no fun for me to have to climb up to change that out (I was pregnant at the time).

I do reccommend this bed set, and I think you'll be happy with it :)

Toddler bed bought over Target online
If you read this I hope it is not too late and you have not ordered this piece of garbage! I bought the twin sized toddler bed of this manufacturer, which comes with a ladder, over the Target online store. Let me tell you- there is a very good reason why you cannot buy this piece of furniture at your local Target store- but only online! Simply put- you would never consider buying it when you see it in person. The quality is absolutely disappointing. The cheapest fiber board as a core paired with a thin fake wood grain-foil. At this price point I expected at least to see a real wood veneer, especially as you can buy real solid wood beds for the same money at Meijers, Ikea, etc.! When my order arrived, the ladder was broken right out of the box. The fact that there was no indication of physical stress to the box or any of the other components within the box at all, makes me believe that it left the manufacturer in the broken condition. Needless to say, a quality so cheap and bad that the bed arrives at your door with broken parts already, will hardly survive the physical stress when exposed to the use of a 2 year old! I am shocked about the lousy quality, Target is willing to refund the pure cost for the bed, but the 100$ in shipping I have wasted in this transaction leave a very bitter aftertaste in my mouth. Lessons learned, never buy anything online that you have not seen in person before, and never assume the description "natural marple" actually means there is real solid wood involved!

My son loves this bunkbed
We purchased this loft bed for our early-teen son, he loves it. The futon size was hard to match, we got one too wide and thick, but it is working out as a lounge, not chair. It took a while to assemble, but was not hard, we all helped and it was done in a couple of hours. Our son was very happy with it, it suits his purpose and age, and will take him through his teen years. We would recommend it to anyone.

Bunk review
This product was difficult to put together with the "tools" provided. The futon mattress was very hard to find and is not sold with the unit. THe bottom futon is not for everyday use. The futon is thin and difficult to find a cover for. Top bunk and desk are a great combo. Ok for one child not ok for two.

Clean Lines and Well-Built
This is a very sturdy bed that performs well under lots of abuse. It is well-finished, with no sharp edges. The open design works very well in a small space. The pull-out keyboard tray is especially nice. There is ample shelf space, although the shelf surfaces are slick enough that we've had trouble finding bookends that will grip the surface and keep the books upright. They fall over on a regular basis. We also found that we had to cover the rungs of the ladder with cylindrical foam -- the rectangular shape of the rungs was hard on our kid's feet. Nevertheless, a great buy that we're happy with.

Overall a great bed
This bed was bought for a teen boy and he loves it. It took 3 people to put together as it is heavy. It took about 2-3 hours. The only problem we encountered with the actual product was one of the holes for the screws did not line up (on the desk portion of the bed) The delivery company called us 2 days before to make sure we would be home, but they did not give us a time when they would be delivering, so we had to wait around until they came. Once they came there was only one delivery person and he had no gate on his semi. For a product this heavy a gate or 2 people is necessary. He had a difficult time getting it off the truck. One box was completely broken open on both ends and looked smashed up. I inspected it and all seemed to be ok but I insisted the delivery person write down on the delivery slip that the box was damaged. The desk did have a few spots where the paint was scratched because of the box damage, but it was not a big enough deal to think about returning the bed. Overall the bed is excellent for the price and it fits a full size mattress and bunkie board perfectly.

Great buy for a neat bed - my son loves it!
A few things, the bed is NOT difficult to put together if you have ever assembled other furniture items. It CAN be assembled by ONE person, just use a little ingenuity and put bed on it's side and then attach the two main side rails. Next, lift it up on it's edge and put the rest together. Lifting off edge may require help since it's heavy, but I did this myself - however I'm a large fairly strong man (6'3 295lbs).

I did make the same mistake as someone else on another site mentioned. I put the bed base (the part that the mattress goes on) in backwards. Just make sure the side with 3 holes goes to the back, it's latter needed to attach the shelves.

Other than that it just takes some time, about 2 hours and that was fixing my mistake. Otherwise about 1 to 1:30 hours.

Note: Use a cordless drill it will save HUGE time when bolting together. Just cut the supplied alien wrench L shape off then insert the straight piece in to drill - SAVES SO MUCH TIME. I do this all the time now when I get stuff that requires alien wrench bolts for assembly.

Great Bed for a Good Price. Solid, I tested it out and it held me fine (all 295lbs).

Great Product !! Very sturdy and well made.
This is a really nice looking and study loft bed workstation. The instructions and parts were very organized and everything was there including the tools needed to assemble. Assembly was easy (about 2 hours) but you need a couple of people to put together because of holding parts together while assembly. Buy from this vendor, the price was $300 cheaper than other identical beds sold by other vendors. The delivery was to my garage and the delivery people were on time and called a day ahead to confirm. I had no problem, but I did email to ask a question after my order was placed and response was fast and very helpful. You will love this product!

Here's an answer I posted for someone looking at the idea of bunkbeds, and I think the principle is pretty much the same for loft beds, you just take out some parts.

The sturdiest bunkbeds ever made were made by the Cargo company and its offshoots like Barn Door.

These have a super-simple construction.

If the reason you want to build them yourself is to save money, you might be pleasantly surprised if you check your local craigslist. Off and on, I've seen Cargo bunkbed sets that retailed for over a thousand dollars get sold for as little as $150. I'm not sure you can build them for that!

How secure a loft bunk bed will be in regards of safety and quality? Will it break while my kids sleeping?

I have seen the bunk loft beds and the legs that hols the bed looks very thing. I understand that wear and tear happends to any product, but in a bed specailly bunks am expecting 100% safety in regards of the quality and safety.

If you are buying a commercially made bunk bed from a department store or similar, then the bed itself will probably be just fine in terms of strength to hold a normal kid. It might even say in the manufacturer's literature how much it will hold.

If you need to assemble it yourself at home, then make sure that all of the screws, nuts and bolts are tight. Follow directions. Double-check everything.

Probably more important is routine inspection to be sure that it stays structurally sound. Kids will tend to jump on, in and over just about anything, tending to destroy even the best built furniture. You may need to adjust and tighten it periodically.

I grew up with a bunk bed. There was more danger from falling out (or being thrown out) then then there was from the bed falling apart.

We have to keep our dorm room beds in our dorm so i cant bring a loft bed from home but i can loft it with a kit that goes under it. I want to be able to put my desk under my bed. Does anyone know where i can find such a kit or plans to make this loft? Keep in mind i CANNOT build a bed. It must be only the support for underneeth.

I never saw such bed which can put on another twin bed.
But this is a creative way to go. you can buy three pieces of loft bed and combine together. maybe that is what you want.

My room is really small so I've decided to get a loft bed to maximize space. The only promblem is that the bed has to fit my twin xl mattress and has to be cheap. Where can I get a cool twin xl loft bed? Direct links would be appreciated.
IKEA doesn't sell beds in twin xl. Most of the big furniture stores I've checked don't have them.
