Bed linens?
August 1-2 I have an overnight stay at my college and they said to bring bed linens. My question is, are bed linens the fitted and flat sheet? Also does anyone have any idea what you do at an overnight stay for student orientation?

Probably the entire set--fitted sheet, flat sheet, bedspread/quilt/comforter, and any blankets you might need. Usually they put you up in dorms and the beds are stripped clean to the mattress.
I never went to my orientation, so I cant tell you what they'd do. My husband did go to his and he said it was boring, lol.
I would take them just to be safe but then what size? I would call and ask them I am not sure When I went to mine they showed us what its like. It was a lot of fun
What causes bed linens to get those tiny lint knots?
I purchase only 300 to 400 hundred thread count bed linens and just started experiencing this problem. I recently bought a new washer and dryer and wonder if one or the other could be the culprit?
What's happening is the weaker fibers forming the yarns are breaking and the remaining fibers that are then not caught in the yarn pill up. This is the basic mechanism of pilling, whether you're dealing with something like a cotton-poly blend or a mix of longer and shorter cotton fibers.
Abrasion will increase the problem... you may notice more pilling in sort of people-shaped patches. This is, essentially, a fabric fault.
Sateen and similar weaves will increase this issue because the longer float yarns are more subject to abrasion.
New bed linens- different colors, light and dark can I wash together?
I like to mix and match things, and we recently bought new bed linens. The sheets and pillow cases are light blue and green and the duvet cover is a dark brown (I bought awseome throw pillows that bring all the colors together and it goes great with our room, like I said I love to mix and match) Well it's time that they get washed for the first time. Do you think it's okay if I throw them all in the wash at the same time? Will the dark color of the duvet cover bleed into the light sheets? Will I have to wash them seperatly the first time or always or even at all? I use tide and no fabric softeners or anything else. Just wondering. Thanks for you input and help!
well to genius number 1: 30 degrees is freezing
and genius number 2: not trying to be a smart ass but as a matter of fact yes- i wash my colors and white together in cold water with an HE detergent. which is why i was asking whether or not I can do this for the first time washing them
If you want to keep your colors "true" then wash them separetely. Just save yourself the grief of an "oh no!!!" and take your precautions. You seem to like the colors the way they so don't mess with it.

I've just got fine bed linens and I have been sleeping much better with them, so I wonder about recommendations of good laundry detergent to wash them in a washing machine that keep the bed linens with this good sleep feeling for a longer time.
Where can I find a JP Stevens set of bed linens?
I have searched, googled, ebayed, etc. but cannot find where to locate a particular pattern of bed linens from the now-defunct JP Stevens. Any suggestions?
JP Stevens melted into the Westpoint Pepperel conglomerate. Patterns usually get discontinued on a fairly frequent basis. I doubt you will be able to get anything. Best bet is eBay, I hate to say.
