air bed
This air bed works fine. Just like a bed. Thought it would be a little firmer.
great for guests
We got this bed for my parents that stayed for a week. They said the bed was comfortable and they slept great. I love that the height of the bed is close to what a mattress bed is instead of feeling like you're sleeping close to the floor. We didn't lose any air and didn't have to pump it up during their whole stay. I loved the built in pump and it is a great portable bed for guests! I love this airbed!
Great item! Great price! Huge bed!
I needed an air mattress for a trip my boyfriend and I were going to take. After checking numerous websites this one came up on all of them and always had great feedback. I gave it a shot and I am glad I did. Before the trip I inflated it (took about 3 mins) and left it inflated for about 3 days. I measured the height of it the first and last day and it had not lost any air at all. I did roll around on it and stuff, I didn't just leave it there. My boyfriend came over and we tested it to see how it works with two people. It seemed great. If one of us got up the other side of the bed was not jolted around a lot or sent higher or lower with a change in air below us. The top is soft too. I tried a regular queen sized fitted sheet on it and it stayed well. It took about 5 minutes to deflate. When I folded it back up there wasn't much air left inside of it to squeeze out. The bag to carry it in is also nice, but a bit hard to hold unless you fold the mattress back up well, because the handles aren't all that long. Worked well and stayed inflated fully over night. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase.
The single most uncomfortable night of my life
I bought this mattress based on the reviews and because it was an inexpensive option ... which was appealing since we use an air mattress less than a dozen nights in a year. We had a Simmons that lasted for years before it started to leak and I should have gone with that brand again because this one is crazy uncomfortable. In fact, it does everything you hope an air mattress won't do: it leaks air during the night, it rolls you toward the middle, it has these insanely huge tubular ridges that run down the length of it that made me feel like I was sleeping on a dozen of those foam swimming pool noodles.

My bad that I didn't try it immediately ... I didn't use it until the return period was up. Now I own a large, lumpy, leaky potato chip that I can't sleep on. So bad, I wouldn't even give it to a thrift store ...
Great Value
I bought this to use nightly as a bed while I am in the process of relocating for my job. The product is just as described and I'm completely satisfied. The built in pump is convenient and the bed inflates within 5 minutes. I've had it up for 4 days now and I haven't needed to re-inflate it. Even if it does lose a bit of firmness, it isn't a hassle to refresh it since the built in pump will take care of it rather quickly.

Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll Storage

Coleman

List Price: $29.99

Product Details

  • Pretentious size: 78" x 60" x 8.5"
  • 48 coils for uniform support
  • Dry-as-dust-duty PVC with a soft suede top for comfort

Product Description

The Coleman Idol-Sized Quickbed is a great choice for camping, overnight guests, or anywhere you call for an extra bed. Measuring 78" long by 60" ample when inflated (fitting standard queen-sized sheets), the Quickbed is made of weighed down-duty, puncture-resistant PVC, with 48 coils advantaged and a soft suede top for extra comfort. The Quickbed is submissive to inflate and deflate, thanks to Coleman's further-wide Advanced Double Lock Valve. Like all Coleman inflatable products, this Quickbed features Coleman's Airtight System, guaranteed not to fissure. And the built-in Wrap 'N' Roll storage system makes packing and storing impatient and easy.
Imposingly enough to easily accommodate two adults (or four small children), this queen dowager-size Quickbed gets its name from Double-Retain valves that allow it to inflate 10 times quicker than air beds with soup valves. And if you think inflating time is astute, when morning rolls around you'll find that, thanks to the Double-Implant valves, the air beds deflate 20 times faster as well. Keep one of these epitome-size flocked air beds around for camping trips, unexpected guests, or kids' slumber parties (the mattress will adjust fitted or flat queen-size sheets). The forceful-duty PVC construction is designed to endure all sorts of dependence, but if anything should happen, a repair kit is included. The green-flocked rayon top can be a shallow prone to dust, but it does add warmth and softness for colder nights. The air bed can refrain from up to 600 pounds. Its 56 coils and 6-inch side gussets afford support and, unless you sit down from a height, keep you from bumping the compass basis. Pump sold separately. One-year small warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

Customer Reviews

Lasted 5 nights.
I used this mattress for family camping and took great care to make sure that there is no sharp objects underneath nor on top of the mattress every time. Was able to (manually) pump the mattress up to good firmness.

Just last week, the mattress started to leak air from the top of the mattress. The seams on the ring-like pattern ripped and lost all air. Good thing we had Therm-a-Rest as back-up.

Poor construction and poor durability.

Thumbs down.

Easy setup and roll up
Boought this item for a family camp out. It was pretty easy to fill with air. Held air all week long without any problems. When tear down started it was easy to roll up and put in the roll storage that is attached to it.
2 for 2 wont hold air.
I don't know if its a bad batch or what but within 3 hours of inflation it needs to be topped off again. This is with no weight on it at all. I returned that one for another and the same issue.
Coleman Quickbed fails
The first night the mattress lost some air, the second night I was on the floor in 4 hours. I checked all around with soapy water, the valve seemed OK and could not find a leak. However, it lost air just sitting around so I tossed it out. What a waste! I have an older one(green) which is still great, but too narrow. This one has thinner PVC and is made in China. I am going to TRY to find a brand not made in China. RIGHT!
Poor quality...stay away from buying this.
We bought two coleman air beds. One Queen size and the other twin size. Both are of poor quality. Queen one - two gone now. after first one's air leakage, we tried to return it but there was no return policy on that. Only replacement was entertained, so we got stuck with it and got a replacement. The second one has air leak now. Customer service is also very poor, nearly 45 mins of wait time and no response. I did not expect this from a company like Coleman. I don't know what to do other than putting it in trash. Twin one - first one was replaced due to the same reason as above. Have to wait and see when that will reach the same state.

Not satisfied
After about 8 uses (over 2 1/2 months), the motor died which fills both chambers. Before it died my parents said they seemed to roll towards eachother in the center (they are average sized and not heavy). Sadly, we are returning this product. I was hopeful, as it was fairly nice quality until it stopped working.
Thought I was in my own bed!
First of all let me start by saying there are tons of inflatable mattresses out there, ranging from $20 to over $300. When I started to look at it, why would I even consider spending over $100 for an air mattress to use on a vacation. Well, let me tell you, this was a great investment. We took this mattress up to a cottage. Last year I slept a week at this cottage on a leather couch and it was not fun. This year, I wanted something better to sleep on. The Wenzel Insta-Bed Queen was GREAT. It was very confortable. The top is covered with something, so your sheet are not laying on top of plastic and you get a better feel against your body. We slept on this for a week, and it held air very well. It was half way through the trip before I decided to plug it in again to add a little air. The dual chambers are pretty cool too because you can put air in the center or the sides of the bed depending on your sleep perference. I would recommend this to anyone. Its worth the extra cash for a good air mattress if its something you are going to need. Now I have an extra queen bed for visitors to the house.
UNEVEN and UNCOMFORTABLE
If you like a bed that pushes your body into the center with raised edges, than this is the bed for you. A bed should be flat. This bed was designed by someone who never even tried to lie down in it. The design is totally flawed. My biggest fears were buying an air bed that leaked, not one that puts strain on your body because it is not flat. Horrible design. F. Waste of money.
I slept on this product
I actually bought this as a gift for my brother & sister-in-law who don't have a spare bedroom in their home. If I want to spend time with them and enjoy my three nephews, I have to sleep on an airbed in their livingroom. However, last time I visited them I woke up around 2AM with these two, huge, bulging masses on either side of me and I was on the ground. Needless to say, that airbed had bitten the dust. So, I replaced it with this queen size Wenzel Insta-Bed. It took about 90 seconds to inflate and I slept comfortably for the three nights I stayed with them. I liked that it was nice and high off the ground, didn't have that icky vinyl smell, and I never once had a problem with the bed loosing air. The morning I left, the bed deflated easily and I packed it back into it's little sleeping bag sized holder. For me, this is a nice product and it made a nice gift.
Stood the test of time!
I purchased this in December 2009 and realized I had never reviewed it. I have had two different air mattresses in the past: An Aerobed purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond and an unknown brand purchased at BJ's Warehouse. Both mattresses developed tiny leaks after one or two uses and, despite diligently repairing every leak, a new one quickly developed. After reading the reviews of this brand, I decided to give it a try. So far, no leaks, my husband and I slept comfortably through the night, and it was simple to inflate and deflate. After almost a year of occasional use (probably used six times in eight months), I can confidently declare this one to be a winner.

Like Sleeping on a Cloud
We purchased this mattress before a trip so that we would have a place to sleep at a relative's home, and it was worth every penny. The mattress was so comfortable that we thought about using it every day at our home instead of our regular bed. It is nice to be able to get a good night's sleep while away from home. We did not have a queen-sized sheet for it, but used a king size. That worked out fine and the sheet did not slip because of the flocked top. We inflated and deflated 3 times as was suggested before using it and it was fine. It was easy to travel with because of its carrying bag and was not too heavy. Getting it back into its carrying bag was not easy, but possible. It remained inflated for the entire trip, although it probably could use a little air each day to keep it super-firm. It is now being stored in our closet, taking up very little space, until our next trip or for some guests of our own. We are very happy with the purchase which I believe to be a quality item.
Company likes it
I use this for company that comes to visit and they are impressed with its comfort. It packs away very well and is easy to inflate or deflate. So far have used it for about 7 days with 2 people on at a time.
Happy with the raised air bed (so far, so good)
I bought this raised airbed after *many* hours of reading reviews and searching. So far it's been great! We needed to replaced the two crappy regular air mattresses we had which kept deflating, and one that used 10 "C" batteries but took 2 hours to fill. (never-aigain!) Make sure you fill it with air few times before someone sleeps on it, as they suggest. (I think that's why it didn't lose much air) My father-in-law (who's 6'2") slept on it for two nights, and liked it. And he's slept on expensive ($5000.00+) beds, so if he likes it, it's a good bed. We haven't used it much, but for now it's earned 5 stars. I would definately purchase another if we needed one for more guests (but then we'd need a bigger house). Hopefully it will last a few years.
Excellent mattress!
We bought this mattress for family that was coming to visit. The box had two different stickers on the outside instructing us to inflate fully and deflate the mattress at least three times BEFORE using. We did this about 4 or 5 times before trying it out for the first time. Our guest used this mattress for over a week with no need to refill or top off the mattress. I found a few other reviews saying they had to keep adding air, but don't know if they did the initial inflate/deflate step. This mattress inflates in minutes, deflates just as fast, is nice and tall and relatively easy to get off and on. I would highly recommend this mattress for anyone needing a spare mattress, whether for out-of-town guests, a retreat from a snoring spouse or to watch movies in the living room! :) It folds up nice and small with its own bag so it's super easy to store when not in use, too...Great product, great price!
Very Good Purchase
Purchased the inflatable bed because an inflatable mattress is difficult to get out of in the morning (I am 67). Bought it so I would have a place to sleep when I visited my son, i.e. didn't want to put him out of his bed. I slept in in for five nights & was very comfortable. Added air each night to ensure no problem in the night. I was still afloat every morning. It was a little warm on my back & I was a little apprenhensive when I rolled over when I slept. But, I never had a problem. Glad I bought it.

Customer Reviews

Great mattress overall.
This mattress inflates super quick to become a very comfortable bed, perfect for two people. The built-in pump works great and makes it very easy to inflate or deflate the mattress rapidly. My only complaint is that after sleeping on the mattress for eight hours it does loose a bit of air, but I suppose that's to be expected from any air mattress.
Intex Pillow Rest Airbed
2009 INTEX 66717E (66717) COMFORT-REST RISING COMFORT RAISED QUEEN AIR MATTRESS AIRBED BED W/ BUILT-IN AC AIR-PUMP

Purchasing this airbed was a great decision. Mattress arrived sooner then anticipated. The carrying bag is very easy to use, it has a wide opening and two handles to carry the mattress. Very comfortable to sleep on. The sheets stay put do to the special flocking surface. It is very easy to blow up and deflate, the built in pump is very convenient.
Super Awesome Indeed!
GREAT GREAT GREAT Deal... I bought this for my mother during her visits and it worked better than I had hoped... Very compact and excellent design. Tall enough for her to have no problems getting up in the morning..
Will never buy another air mattress
I have never had a good experience with air mattresses. The always deflate, or they get a hole, or they are uncomfortable. Before I purchased this one, I read ALOT of reviews. I had never heard of this brand and was a little nervous about spending so much money on it. After my experience with this one, I will never buy another mattress. Even if this one 'breaks', I will come back to this brand.

We used the mattress for company that stayed with us for a week. After that we left it up for almost 2 months. It was used everyday and we never had to inflate it. It is extremely comfortable, and I almost prefer it to our pillowtop mattress. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an air mattress, especially if you are looking to use it long term.
So Far Great
I would like to give this product a thumbs up for initial impression. I recently had company staying at my home for approximately one week. The bed in that time frame worked great but had to just inflate a tad bit every other day but it held air really well. So in all honesty a fair assessment would be after several uses but for the money I would not hestitate buying another one.

Manuel Zelaya undergoes strange siege inside Brazilian embassy

It was impartial past 2am when the music blasted us from our snooze. Honduran soldiers had placed lavish-powered speakers just casing the embassy compound for a evening-long, deafening serenade.

One kerfuffle b evasion in particular, Two-legged Rat, was repeated again, and again, and again. The lyrics are not skilful: "Filthy rat/crawling rude/scum of life/ill-made monstrosity/subhuman/mirror semblance of hell/damned louse/how much deface you've done to me."

When the Mexican chorister Paquita la del Barrio performed it she was addressing a former lover, but the Honduran military had a numerous target in wits: Manuel Zelaya, the ousted president.

A military-led coup toppled him in June but on 21 September he sneaked back into Honduras to wires for his reinstatement and, to the chagrin of the army and the de facto direction led by Roberto Micheletti, found shelter in the Brazilian embassy in Tegucigalpa.

Zelaya's recrudescence galvanised hired help and international protests against the new r, which found itself confronting a infamous Public relations nightmare.

Living inside

It has returned the adopt by making the leftist chairwoman's life a living Acheron. In the first two days excitement, water and telephones were cut off, and the embassy remains monastic from the rest of the Honduran top-hole by heavily armed soldiers and the gendarmes. Initially Zelaya and more than 300 supporters crammed into 400 sq metres' of mansion. Now that figure has dwindled to 46, mostly followers and aides but also five journalists and a Brazilian diplomat.

How comfortable are air beds? Should I buy a futon or an air bed?

I'm on a budget of $250 approx. Should I buy a futon or an air bed?

AIRBEDS:

pros:

* comfortable
* you can adjust how firm or soft you want it
* you can store it away if space is limited.
* price can be cheap to expensive (you'll get what you
pay for. I bought one for $99 at Linens-n-
Things and it had a self-inflate and a patch
up kit for a twin sized one).

cons:

* if there is a leak, it will take a while to find the hole
to patch it up.
* if it rips, you will have to get a new one.
* if it does not come with a self-inflate, you will be puffing
for a while to get it blown up (heaven help
you if you come home exhausted).

FUTONS:

pros:

* it is good for your back if you are not too heavy
* it can convert from a couch to a bed to save on space
* the cushion can be changed to match your decor

cons:

* when the cushion wears down you will be able to feel
the support beams across your back
* the cushion wears down quicker than a conventional
couch cushion
* the price can range from medium to high ( I bought one
from Wal-mart for about $180 and it fell apart after
one year and it took almost 3hrs to put it together,
but that's me).

futon

if i were u i would buy air beds coz not only are they comfortable but space saver too

How to check air bed for leaks?

I have a queen size air bed thats leaking air. What is the best way to check for leaks? Thanks.

put it under water, and you will see the air bubbles

Is sleeping on air bed harmful for prolonged periods of time?

My brother has been sleeping on air bed for about 6 years. He did in college, and now he has his own apartment and a job; he still sleeps on a air bed.
Are there any short term or long term complications on a person who sleeps on an air bed for a prolonged period of time?
If you can find a website on this matter, please post it here.
Thank you.

It shouldn't be...it should give with your movements & be good especially for the spine.

I have a bad back & my MD told me not to get hardest bed. Also I assume your brother could adjust the air pressure in the bed.

What air bed would you recommend?

There are so many brands of air beds out there, I don't know which one to pick. I'm a college student and since I move every nine months I need everything I own to be portable. So the only idea I've come up with for a bed would be to get an inflatable one. But there are so many brands out there I don't know what would be comfortable for long-term use. I want a queen sized bed, preferably a raised one. Or would getting an air bed be a bad idea in the first place? Thanks in advance for everyone's input.

I have one of those Aerobeds (I think that's what it's called). They have them as just a mattress in a queen size for about $150 retail (look them up on eBay). They also have one with a raised mattress (like a regular bed) for more.

They're pretty cool. They take about five minutes to inflate with the built-in air pump. if the thing starts to deflate or you want to make the mattress firmer, you just flick on the air pump switch while you're lying on it. It also has about a 3-inch deflation valve that deflates the mattress in less than a minute.

Because of columns throughout the mattress, the mattress is pretty firm and it doesn't transfer motion as much as you would think. It's very comfortable, completely portable and, when deflated, fits in a bag half the size of a sleeping bag.

Anyone know a place to get a air bed from a company that has Advanced Comfort in their name?

I purchased a "select comfort" type bed over ten years ago and am having problems finding the company to purchase a new inner chamber. Any ideas would be most appreciated. The air pump box has "Advanced Comfort" on it and that's the only information I have. Any ideas on whether or not I could just purchase a select comfort chamber and pump? Rather than purchasing the whole get up?
